What is Zoom Teeth Whitening

What is the Zoom Whitening Procedure?

The main purpose of the Zoom whitening treatment is to eliminate any stains on the surface of the teeth. With that being said, the treatment also provides quick results without the harsh ingredients that most whitening agents have. What many patients tend to love about this procedure is the fast results. Although this procedure can typically be done in one session, there are cases where the dentist will suggest dividing the treatment into two or three sessions. The diving of sessions would be due to the current state of the patients teeth/oral health.

How the Zoom Whitening Process is Performed

Below you will find further information on the way the Zoom whitening procedure is preformed:

  • First, the dentist will do an examination on your teeth, in order to indicate how much of the treatment is needed.

  • After the dentist has examined the patients teeth, a gel is then applied to each tooth. The purpose of the gel is to protect the gums while whitening the enamel.

  • Once the gel has been applied, an ultra-violet light is placed onto your teeth, to activate the whitening ingredients within the gel.

  • When the ultra-violet light is placed onto the teeth, the oxygen within the gel is what actually whitens the teeth. The oxygen enters the enamel and dentin of the teeth.

  • After the procedure is complete, your dentist will have you rinse your mouth, to get rid of any residue. The process can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour.

  • Your dentist will provide you with a list of  things you should to in order to protect and keep your teeth white and clean.

If a -Agilent has any conditions that require dental treatment, the dentist will recommend the procedures to be completed, before the zoom whitening process takes place. The process is invasive, and the hydrogen peroxide based gel that is applied may affect any existing tooth conditions in a negative manner.
